Online Publishing - InCirculation

Online publishing differs from traditional publishing in two key respects; its speed and immediacy (no lengthy production and distribution lead times) and its interactivity.

Early online publishing offered little more than a replication of existing printed material. Now, however, the publishing community has woken up to the potential of online and is exploiting it to create new products, often with no print equivalent, and opening up new dialogue channels with their audience. Many in online pubishing are also turning the traditional publishing model on its head by encouraging users to publish their own content and views on their site.
