Subscriber management is playing an increasingly central role in publishing strategy.
Whilst the bulk of UK consumer magazines are still distributed via the newstrade, the increasing pressures on retail space and the growing popularity of the internet, has meant that all publishers are looking to both the postal and online routes - and that means subs.
Subscriber management covers all aspects of customer service: telephone and email support, order processing, data capture, mailing labels generation (for postal copies) or site access control for online, and financial reporting. Increasingly, subscriber management also involves an awareness of marketing requirements, to ensure that systems enable proper segmentation and the ability to offer and fulfil complex product combinations.
